ode to fall

Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. If I knew your address I’d send you a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils.
- Tom Hanks in “You’ve Got Mail”

today was a little cooler, a tad bit overcast, and i spotted several leaves changing
...and even some falling, sigh...this is hands down my favorite time of the year. ever since our move to ohio, and after one fabulous fall...i'll never be the same person, and when i don't get to experience this beautiful time of year when we move back to az {or wherever else we may end up}, my heart will long for my ohio falls. to top it all off, when i went grocery shopping today, the store had honey crisp apples...mmmmm, my favorite! they are the perfect blend of sweet and tart...and when you bite into them, the juice trickles down your throat. so the picture above is my "bouquet" of apples. {before these apples, i really wasn't an apple person}. also, don't you just love that quote from you've got mail? {i know you do, sarah b. remember how obsessed we were with that movie!??} maybe it's the teacher in me, but i love newly sharpened pencils and school supplies...one more fun thing about fall.

J went back to school on wednesday, and little G starts on Monday...i love, love, love their school and teachers. jack has already reported back with several friends, and his behavior has improved drastacally! i think he just needed more to keep him busy...here's hoping the same thing works for G!

Autumn is definitly my favorite season! Oh, I can totally relate to the school supplies. Whenever we would do our back to school shopping when I was younger, I was always more excited about the new school supplies than the new clothes. What a nerd I am!

Ok I loved this post! It made me so excited for the fall! Loved the apples (the bowl is beautiful too) loved the quote! There is just something about this time of yr. The leaves changing, the beautiful weather, the start of the holidays. I will for sure miss it when Beegh and I move back to AZ.

Oh - how I miss the seasons!!!!!!! I am dying of heat - sweating in my own house. I just can't cool off here and our grass is brown and I'm getting tired of swimming. I want to take my kids to the park without them burning their buns on the slides and their hands on the monkey bars. Soon enough. We'll get fall waether around Christmas time. I can't wait to see the spikes fall off the cacti:)

You don't know me. I came across your blog while blog-surfing. I just had to comment because you are me 10 years ago!
We were away at dental school(Seattle) with 1 or 2 kids, I'm a photographer & I happen to LOVE school supplies & honey crisp apples too!!
I look back so fondly at our dental school years. We made such great life-long friends there.
Hang in there! It goes by in a blink!!

I feel the same way about school supplies. I can't wait to have kids in school so I can justify buying it all! I almost bought myself a Zac Efron folder the other day. JK. :o) But I do drool over the back to school ads, and i LOVE this pic of the pencils. :o) I'm glad you get a beautiful fall. Ours is on its way, but won't be as colorful as yours. I look forward to seeing you blog all the gorgeous colors!!!
