i took this picture of my friend's cute baby
{the good ole' mister stork brought babies to us}
because this whole pregnancy thing is REALLY hard
we have a baby on the way and due to arrive June 19, 2009
it's gonna be a LONG winter,
but it will be worth it!

things i remember about being pregnant:
*the nausea! YUCK! (all day EVERY day!)
*i want nothing to do with chicken
*cereal always tastes good
*i'm in bed by 8pm or the next day is bad news
*every task seems daunting
*i can't wear perfume or scented lotion or i'll never wear it again
*getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom
*i'm ALWAYS "thinkin' Arby's!"
*i pretty much want to die from 3pm until i fall asleep around 8:30pm
*i kind of want to die the other times of the day
*my stove is the only thing in my house that is clean (i don't use it!)
*i have to say "no" to lots of things, when i'm always a "yes" girl
*i cry a lot
*i pray a lot
things i forgot or didn't know:
*i'd show a lot sooner with my 3rd baby (i look way more pregnant than my friend who is 10 weeks further along than me)
*crocheting can help me muscle past the urge to vomit
*a 3-year-old and 5-year-old can do many things they claim they can't do when forced upon them
*i miss my moms! (i wasn't embarrassed to have my mom come help me clean or come help me with J, and just give me moral support...it's not the same over the phone)
*i have wonderful people in my life here that are like sisters. it's been amazing and it makes me feel so good that i have friends who call, email, take my kids, and even bring me dinner. it is SOOOO hard for me to accept service, but i really appreciate it! thanks for being my ohio family.
*it's amazing how messy a house can get only after one day of not picking up after the kids
all in all, i'll take all the bad with the good. when i look at my two little ones now, and on wednesday when i saw the heartbeat of my little-one-to-be, i'll suffer all that i have to for a healthy, beautiful baby. just the fact that our Heavenly Father entrusts the lives of these little ones to me is humbling and it gives me faith and strength to do hard things...and pregnancy is a REALLY hard thing for me.
so, no i haven't fallen off the face of the earth...i'm just growing a baby!

Hurray for you! I hear you on the nausea thing. Sometimes I think I can be content with only two, just knowing what we women have to go through to get those precious little cheeks to squeeze. Someday i'll follow suit. How I wish that I lived nearby and could come borrow your kids for the day or help out. I am excited for your cute little family!
Congratulations!!!! That is such exciting news!! I am so happy for you guys!! and, I love the postcard you sent out. That is just too cute!
Congratulations!!Sorry you're so sick. Lean on those RS sisters, they want to help. You know darn well when you're in a different place in your life, you'll be helping others as well. This is your time on the receiving end. You're a great mom.
Yea Yea Yea! Your little one will be right in the middle of Jackson and our next. How fun! I hope that things go a little smoother for you this time. Are you going to try acupuncture this time?
Congrats! I can't wait to see another cute baby of yours!
Congratulations Matt and Lara!! You make the most beautiful children! Hopefully the nausea won't be as bad this time around! Good luck and take care!

Congrats, you and Matt make the cutest babies ever. Don't feel bad, I gained weight with Rex before I even knew I was prego.
Bless your heart. I do feel for you. I have had the same problem. My little girl does like that things I eat or the way I sleep. It's frustrating to think that I am only half way, but it's all worth it. Congratulations!
I am so sorry you feel so crummy. Let me know if I can do ANYTHING! And when you start to feel better I would love to have girls night at Archivers or something. Call me on one of your better days or even a bad one.. I can come help.
congrats!! we are kinda jealous :-)
hey, congratulations!
hang in there... i, too have very difficult pregnancies. i'm sick all nine months, and lose about 20 pounds. the guilt of not being a good wife or mom is always bearable when i consider the joy and happiness that we're adding to all of our lives. good luck and take care of yourself!
YAY!I'm glad you let the cat out of the bag on the blog because I didn't want to spoil the news if no one knew! I was so excited when Lanette told me over lunch the other day.
It's funny because I had just told Clint last week I wondered if you were pregnant because it seemed as if you had slowed down a lot! CONGRATS!
Oh, about the whole Arby's thing... I'm guessing it's a boy then. When Megan was pregnant with Tyson it's all she wanted, and we all know she was not a huge meat eater prior. With Elise she wanted sweets! I guess we'll see soon!
Congrats!! I agree that pregnancy is hard....but it is obviously worth it all in the end. Your children are beautiful and I'm sure baby #3 will be too. Hope you start to feel better soon!
Congrats Lara! Hope you feel better soon!
As your other mom it's frustrating not be there to help; just remember this too shall pass. All the things that frustrate you will change in a few months and you'll have a soft, sweet thing to hug and kiss! Then suddenly all those little sweeties will be grown and gone and living across the country! :( So enjoy and focus on the MIRACLE within you!
Congrats- that is so exciting!
CONGRATULATIONS!! I am so excited for you and your family.
Yea for you guys! I hope these first few months go fast for you. I wish you where here in AZ and we could do Ultrasounds. I am so excited for you.
Okay first off I wanted to wish you a public congratulations. What a darling way to share this with everyone. Second- what a great way to share this with family!! lara- I hope from the bottom of my heart this 3rd one throws you for a loop and gives you somewhat of a little break on sickness. IT'S JUST NOT EASY! Hang in there. i can't wait to see this new little Ellingson. What a beauty he/she will be! Our babies will be fairly close!
Yeah!!! I'm even a little bit teary reading your news! I just love those sweet little baby bundles! I hope you get some reprieve from the sickness. BTW we will be in AZ over Thanksgiving. Maybe we can meet up for a bit.
Congratulations!
CONGRATS!!!! I'm so excited for you guys. I feel your pain with those first few months. I wanted someone to put me in a coma and wake me up when it was over. I wish I was there to help you. So far, # 3 is SO much easier than the first two. It's so worth it. Just keep telling yourself that. I tell people this all the time, but my grandma Sandstrom always told me "It's not easy making a miracle."
OH woops - I was logged in as alan - but that was me - erica. Alan has no idea what it feels like to be pregnant:)
Congrats and Yuck and the same time, it sounds like your pregnancies are much more difficult than mine. I love the trick or treat smell our feet and the stork baby you are so creative:)
Yay! Congrats again, Lara!
I wish we lived closer to each other (well, for a lot of reasons)because I'd love to come help you out. I've got mad cleaning skills.
Congrats that's so exciting!
congrats - we are so excited for you! i don't love being pregnant at all and i have had it pretty easy both times so i feel for you. women who endure hard, miserable pregnancies amaze me! but isn't it wonderful that once the baby is finally here it's all worth it? every time i look at our little grace and when i hear madison laugh i know it is all worth it. hang in there!
Great News Lara!!! Well, except for the being sick and feeling yucky all the time. Hope you feel better as soon as possible. Take care of yourself and that adorable family of yours.
Congratulations, Lara.... I am so happy for you and your beautiful family. I'll be praying for you during this time. I am so excited!!

Oh boy! or Girl! That's so exciting! I remember you planning it out so long ago on the sidelines of football practice... you knew then that you were going to need some good friends to get you through another baby- I'm really glad you found them! Congrats!!
It's a deal. Arby's, on me, when you get here. I love that place! Mmmm...
:o)
Can't wait to see the new beauty! Wishing you less nausea this time around...wish I could bring you lunch!
Lars...I am sorry you are feeling so crummy! I wish I could fly myself right over to you today and make muddy buddies and pop in our favorite "Pride and Prejudice." Those things always make me feel better, especially when I'm missing the company of my sis. Feel better and don't forget the pleasure of taking baths. Love you! And happy baby growing!
Congrats! i am so sorry you are so sick, i feel your pain! i was sick 20 weeks this last time! {arn't you sick like the whole 40 weeks} i hope times fly's by fast for you!
Lara,
Can't even tell you how dang excited I am that you're prego too (we're June 8th due date). Also can't express in words how I totally and completely agree with every single one one of your statements...I felt like you were reading my jornal when you wrote all of that down!!! So glad to hear I'm not the only feeling all of those things. We can do this...we can do anything until June..right???
Congrats. We're so excited for you. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
